Cyclones split two in California

Rachel Zabriskie tied the school record for career strikeouts and tossed a complete game to lead Iowa State to a 6-2 win over Cal Poly Saturday at the Mustang Classic, but the Cyclones fell to Sacramento State 4-1 later that night.
Zabriskie (12-6) scattered five hits and struck out seven batters to tie Courtney Dully’s (1994-97) record with 495 career strikeouts.
Tori Torrescano (1-3) took the loss against Sacramento State, giving up four runs on nine hits.
Kidwell and Erica Miller each collected a pair of hits to lead the Cyclones at the plate.
Iowa State and Sacramento State will meet again this morning at 11 a.m.
