Alex Johnson broke school record for career doubles Sunday, as the Iowa State softball team beat Charleston Southern in Athens, Ga. Saturday, 11-3 in five innings.

A seven-run first inning set the Cyclones (7-9) on their way to victory. Johnson set the school mark with an RBI double in that inning, the 34th of her career.

Pitcher Rachel Zabriskie (7-5) won the 40th game of her career, striking out 10. Kelsey Kidwell had three hits in the game, while Heidi Kidwell and Amanda Bradberry added two each. Charleston Southern fell to 7-7-1.

The Cyclones play next weekend at the Razorback Invitational, beginning play Friday against Eastern Illinois and Southern Mississippi.
